This Super

If you don't want to spend a lifetime learning how to grill the perfect steak, the AI-powered Perfecta grill promises to do all the hard work for you, automating and accelerating grilling without needing you to preheat beforehand or clean up (too much) afterwards.

Invented by Suraj Sudera, an engineer who's commercializing the product through a startup called Seergrills, the Perfecta requires very little manual labor from users. For grilling meats, once the cut is clamped into a vertical support and inserted into the Perfecta, aspiring chefs simply need to use a built-in touchscreen to tell the grill what's being cooked, and the level of wellness and sear they want.

The Perfecta grill figures out everything else on its own using sensors that can detect the thickness of the meat, its surface area and even its fat content.

That information is processed by the Perfecta's "NeuralFire AI system," which determines the ideal position and temperature for the machine's pair of infrared burners, which can get as hot as 1,652º Fahrenheit. Because the toaster-like burners can heat a piece of meat from both sides at once, the Perfecta is claimed to be "up to 50% more energy efficient than other cooking methods," and much faster, grilling many foods in less than three minutes.

The Perfecta can also handle multiple pieces of meat at a time, but don't expect to have an entire feast prepped in less than three minutes. It doesn't offer as much grilling capacity as a traditional barbecue.

The Perfecta isn't limited to cooking steaks, burgers, chicken and fish. It can be used to prep over 50 different types of foods, including vegetables and even pizza. Some of these foods require add-on accessories such as an optional rotisserie. But don't ditch your propane tanks yet. The Perfecta runs on a mix of both electricity and propane.

The Perfecta isn't available for pre-order just yet (and there's no ETA on when it will be) but Seergrills is accepting $100 deposits for those wanting to reserve one. That $100 deposit also gets you "guaranteed VIP early access" and a steep discount on the Perfecta, bringing the price down from $3,500 to $2,499.
